In September 2007, the club participated in its first All Holden Day, again held on the lawns of Old Parliament House. For the first time, the HSV Owners Club of NSW and our newly established Canberra club joined together to put on a display of 45 HSV’s - 21 of those from the Canberra club. The sheer impact of so many HSV’s in one place resulted in another significant increase in our membership. By the end of the day our membership had increased to 55. In just under 12 months, we had suddenly become one of the biggest car clubs in the ACT.
Since 2007, the club has participated annually in many car shows and displays throughout the region promoting both the club and the HSV product – Cooma MotorFest, Shannon’s Wheels Display, Slaven’s Show and Shine, HSV Nationals and various car displays for local businesses. The club has consistently produced award-winning vehicles at these events, something the club is extremely proud of in its short history.
Sponsorship has played a large part in the success of the club. Significantly, most of our current sponsors have been with us since day one. Gerald Slaven Holden (HSV) - our major sponsor, Dimensional Signs, Signed Memorabilia, Meguiars, Shannon’s, Pedder’s Suspension, JAX Tyres, and the Old Canberra Inn to name but a few. Our club activities could not be as successful as they are without their, and many others, very generous support. Promoting ourselves and the product could not have been done as successfully without Dimensional Signs who were instrumental in providing our first club banner and more recently, the signage on our club trailer, both of which are displayed at all our major club events.
Since 2006, the Canberra Region Club had grown to a point where it was decided in 2011 to seek formal approval from HSV Management to form our own stand-alone club – HSV Owners Club of ACT. Approval was finally granted in late 2011.
We are a very family friendly club with many of our club events revolving around our wider HSV family. Membership continues to grow and our HSV family still as strong as ever.
